  22. This is part of a multi-volume collection. The Wallpaper format was dropped, in favor of System 7.5's Clipping Extension feature. So, just the ppats here, and the clippings elsewhere, and Windows *.BMP are also around.

Included here: a ResEdit File which can be imported into programs like Before Dark, Desktop Textures, or Chameleon. If, after you start filling up these programs with tons of ppats, they start crashing, allocate more memory to the programs using the Finder's "Get Info" command, and they'll work fine.

For System 7.5's Desktop Patterns Control Panel: In ResEdit, paste the ppat resources into the "Desktop Patterns Preferences" file in the Preferences folder of the System Folder. The ResEdit ppat editor can't edit patterns bigger than 64 x 64 pixels, and since many of these are 128 x 128, ResEdit may tell you that some patterns are corrupt. They're not.

  28. Many of these patterns are optimized for 16-bit color, so use it if you've got it.
